Does anyone have parents who have left the BORG after you did?
by Alexia inim thinking about my mother today.
shes been in the truth for over 30 years now baptized in her mid 20s.
she had been faithful the whole time despite being married to a severe alcoholic (my father only studied) for 27 years.

The problems with my JW family
by Ima Apostate inthis may be a rare thing on this board, don't know, because this is my first post, but i was raised jw and officially 'checked out', in my own mind, at 14 or so, because it just didn't make sense that god would destroy so many good people who are wholeheartedly trying their best to please him and worship him in truth.
i actually did not pray or give god a passing thought for 12 years or so because the god i had been raised to know was no one i wanted to worship.
but here in the past year something brought me around to him.

Personal Experience I've Never Shared - I Hope it Helps Some Here !
by flipper ino. k. how do i start ?
i will preface the start of this first by saying this happened many years ago - in 1985 when i had just become a new father myself to my dear son flipper junior, i'll call him.
when i explain this to you, some of this may appear comical, in fact, now that i overcame it years ago, i can laugh at it, but when you see the totality of the story- when it happened then to me- it was no laughing matter.

What's the BEST thing about being "out" of the "truth"?
by B_Deserter infor me, it's having friends that i don't have to hide my lack of meeting attendance/service from.
it's amazing how they teach you that only jws can be your real friends, but in reality, it's all contingent upon your religious "performance.
" sure, if you're not going to meetings, they'll try to be "friends," by encouraging you to go back.

I think I just need to tell the story to someone who will get it?
by aimless inhi everyone, im new.
i've been feeling a burden on myself for the years that i have been out and i just don't know how to ease it.
i can't talk about the organization or the people in it to anyone... if i try i immediately feel sick and want to close up and just disappear.

by Alexia inlong story short: forgive my grammar, im in a hurry!.

What exactly happened at Meribah ?
by aligot ripounsous ini attended this we the meeting of an english speaking congregation, where they happened to have their co, an american ex- bethelite with his french wife.
he sounded quite sensible in his concluding prayer, saying that jws are in search of the truth, in connection, i assumed, with the wt article of the day.
that was the least he could say since, as i told him at the end of the meeting, we had seen three different definitions of the generation of the end within the last 13 years.

Remember the term: Heavy petting.
by odie67 ini guess that would include tongue kissing, touching etc....the things two people do when they dig each other.
heavy petting was a huge no no!.
i remember sitting in front of three elders as a teenager spilling my guts about how i kissed this boy.
